Click Like or Don’t

It’s time for me to remember I am a writer
Time to write something I find meaningful
Aside from being too busy and often distracted
I really have no excuse for not doing what I love

So I’ll start by responding to a facebook post
that seems to blame facebook for people’s lack
Where relating and self expression become lost
As current technology controls ways we use time

As I see it, facebook has no power over me
It does and cannot control my time nor how I choose to live
I decide when and for how long I want to turn it on and be connected
I decide how to nourish my on line and my face-to-face relationships

Remembering the beauty around me and my desire to love
and to be loved by both what’s inside and outside my home
Realizing the freedom, the opportunity, the grace and the beauty
each new day brings to me and all God’s creatures
I’m comforted in the knowledge that all the time on this journey
called life is mine and mine to with as I wish

What a gift, this gift of life, it’s one facebook cannot destroy nor deny
Creating and relating to people and things around me is my gift to self
And, perhaps today, my writing may be my gift to you as well when I say,
“Facebook is as facebook does, it does not create reality”

Designing daily activities and engaging in human interactions
is up to you and me
Balancing on line messaging with face to face relationships
enhances personal freedom and “response-abilitties”
Discovering, viewing, encountering indoor and outdoor sights
that stimulate and motivate our vast and creative human potential
can only enhance and expand our wondrous curiosity and imagination

Hurray for Facebook, our new toy, until a newer one comes along
Enjoy and play with it and remember who and what else brings you joy
Real life is what you create and co-create with others
Real life is always there and waiting for you when your playing is done
